Granting access to Google Business Profiles

Google Business Profiles, formally known as Google My Business is a fantastic part of your digital footprint. In this short article we’re going to share how you can grant access to companies like Legal Growth to enable us to manage it for you.

When someone ‘Googles’ your business your business profile is one of the first things they will see. Here is our profile. It provides directions, location, contact details, website links, and shows reviews. You can also use your Google Business Profile to post content, updates and images to your connections.

If you haven’t set up a Google Business Profile you should set one up. Once it’s set up, it will need verifying. We can help you set this up if you need it.

Once set up your profile will look something like this:

You’ll have the option to claim some ‘free’ ad credit to use for Google Ads. We are happy to talk to you about the merits of paid adverts and how the Google Algorithm works. Most importantly, on the right hand side, you’ll have options to view all the different aspects of the profile including your insights (metrics or analytics), your reviews (enabling you to reply to them) but also the ‘users’ which is where you can grant access to others.

In the ‘Users’ section you will be able to invite people or businesses to manage the page. In doing so, you’ll be able to choose what access they have including owner or manager etc. Typically you never want to transfer the ownership of the profile.

Once a company like Legal Growth has access to your Google Business Profile we’ll be able to ensure it’s optimised, to post content and to assess the insights.
