How to Share Access to Your Google Ads Account With an Agency

If you're a business owner who is working with an advertising agency to manage your Google Ads campaigns, you'll want to give them access to your account. In this blog post, we'll walk you through the two different processes of sharing access with an agency. They are both quick and easy, and will save you time and hassle in the long run!

Option 1

First, sign into your Google Ads account. Then click on the spanner icon located in the upper right corner of your screen. On this menu, under ‘Setup’, click Account Access and Security. Now click the ‘+’ button.

Enter the email address associated with the agency's Google Ads account and select the level of access (see below)

You can also add a note to the invitation if you'd like. Once you've sent the invitation, it will appear in the list of users who have access to your account

At this point, your agency should be able to log into their Google Ads account and accept your invitation. Once they have done so, they'll be able to view, manage, and make changes to your Google Ads campaigns.

Option 2

You can also provide the agency with a 10-digit code which is found in the upper-right corner of the Google Ads screen after logging in. Simply send this number to the agency.

The agency will then enter the code and a request for access will be generated and sent to your Google email asking you to accept the request.

Once you have the email, log into your account, go to the Settings icon (the spanner) and select Account Access and Security.

Select ‘Managers’ and verify the agency name and confirm the level of access. When you are happy, click ‘Accept’

Access Levels

If you are only asking the agency performing an audit, then use the Read-Only option. When you are hiring someone, use the Standard access. Never use the Administrative Access as this gives an agency the same access as you and they can freeze you out of your Ads account.

We hope this blog post has given you a better understanding of how to share access to your Google Ads account with an agency.  If you have any more questions about this process, don't hesitate to reach out and contact us! We're here to help.
